About Us
At BookBino we believe every child can succeed in numeracy with the right guidance and support. Our sessions are designed to feel welcoming, encouraging, and engaging - helping students build confidence while strengthening essential maths skills.
Â
Our small-group classes (maximum 6 students) are designed to support primary learners aged 6 to 8, building strong foundations in number sense, problem-solving, and logical thinking. We aim to inspire confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards maths that lasts beyond the classroom.
Program
YEAR 1 Numeracy SKILLS SESSION
This session focuses on building strong foundational skills across number, measurement, and simple data concepts. Students develop confidence in counting, reading, and ordering numbers to 100, while learning basic addition and subtraction. A key emphasis is placed on understanding place value, recognising patterns, and beginning to solve simple problems using everyday contexts. These early numeracy skills form the basis for fluency and accuracy in future learning. Alongside number work, students explore measurement and geometry by comparing length, mass, and capacity, telling time to the half-hour, and identifying common shapes and objects. They are also introduced to simple data collection and interpretation, helping them make sense of information in a visual way.
YEAR 2 NUMERACY SKILLS SESSION
This session builds on early foundations by strengthening students’ understanding of number, place value, and basic operations. Students work with numbers beyond 100, developing confidence in addition and subtraction, and are introduced to simple multiplication through grouping and repeated addition. They also explore patterns, fractions such as halves and quarters, and begin using strategies to solve everyday problems. A strong focus is placed on developing fluency, accuracy, and flexible thinking in number work. In addition, students expand their skills in measurement and geometry by working with length, mass, capacity, and time, including reading the time to the quarter-hour. They identify and describe 2D shapes and 3D objects, and learn to interpret simple maps and directions. In statistics, students collect, organise, and represent data using basic graphs, helping them draw simple conclusions.
YEAR 3 NUMERACY SKILLS SESSION
This session strengthens students’ understanding of number and operations while introducing more complex problem-solving. Students work with numbers to at least 10,000, developing place value knowledge and improving accuracy in addition and subtraction. They are introduced to multiplication and division strategies, including times tables, and begin working with fractions such as halves, thirds, and quarters. There is a strong focus on building fluency, applying efficient strategies, and solving problems in real-life contexts. Students also extend their learning in measurement and geometry by working with units of length, mass, and capacity, telling time to the minute, and exploring area and perimeter. They describe and classify shapes, recognise angles, and interpret simple maps and directions. In statistics, students collect and represent data using tables and graphs, and begin to interpret results more critically.
